Who is Albert George? A photographer who works in Chicago and northwest Indiana.
I work with black and white film for a couple of reasons. One, that’s what I learned decades ago with my first camera, enlarger, and basement darkroom in suburban New Jersey. Two, I work with computers all day, so I prefer to make prints without them.
The main reason I shoot film and make darkroom prints is the quality of the final result. I think shooting analog film makes any photographer better, if only because you can’t take refuge in the sheer quantity of pics digital cameras will hold, or in photoshop to fix problems. And silver gelatin prints can have a realistic, three-dimensional quality that I’ve never seen with an inkjet print.
